Detailed 4 Days Mount Kenya Climbing Sirimon Chogoria Climbing
Day 1: Old Moses camp, Sirimon gate, Nairobi. (3,300m) 3–4 hours, 680m rise, 9km stroll.
Drive to Nanyuki town after being picked up in Nairobi, crossing the equator en route to the Sirimon Park gate (2660m) for lunch. We ascend from the gate via the stunning montane forest, bamboo, and huge heather zone before arriving at the high-altitude moorland and our first hut (the 3,300-meter Old Moses camp) for dinner and the night. It takes three to four hours to complete this moderate hike, which raises you 680 meters.
Day 2: Old Moses – Shipton camp (4200m). 7 hrs, 14km, 900m ascent.
After breakfast, proceed upward along the route, making a right at the intersection. Following a water break, you go along the trail, crossing the Ontulili River before making a right turn through the Moorland, crossing the Liki North River, and continuing uphill to Mackinders Valley, where you can see expansive views of the Shipton Camp. Beneath the massive peaks and glaciers, this camp is a weird place. Sunbirds and rock hyraxes make up the local population.

Mt. Kilimanjaro is visible from the horizon, adding to the thrill of the three to four-hour ascent.
For a hearty breakfast, descend to Minto’s hut. After taking a quick break, continue down the gorges valley to Mount Kenya Bandas, where you can see the Temple, Lake Michaelson, mushroom rocks, and the enormous pool table.
